The Fire District offers multiple resident-focused programs, which require individuals to proactively participate by using fire-science guidelines to clear their properties of hazardous fire fuel such as dead and downed trees, and create defensible space around buildings on their property to help reduce the chance of home ignition from blowing embers; disposing of fire-hazardous waste like pruned tree limbs and brush, and registering for District services. While participation in these projects is the responsibility of the resident, they greatly benefit the community at large.
