Meet the new District General Manager for LAHCFD, J. Logan

LAHCFD October 16, 2018

Jo Anne “J.” Logan’s new employment won’t take her far afield from her current one; Los Altos’ assistant city manager has accepted the position of general manager for the Los Altos Hills County Fire District.

“I’m inspired by this opportunity,” Logan said in a press release. “I think it brings into focus the best of my skills, experiences and training.”

Logan’s position is a new one created in response to the Los Altos Hills Fire District Commission’s 2015-2020 Strategic Plan review, which revealed a need for such leadership, according to the release. The seven members of the commission initiated a candidate search in November, and they selected Logan at their Sept. 11 meeting.

“We are pleased to have such a talented and experienced executive join our fire district,” said District President George Tyson in the release. “In this newly created role, we expect Ms. Logan to help us do an even better job in serving our district’s residents through management of our ongoing operations, developing budgets and tracking expenditures, development of new initiatives to improve safety and in outreach to the community.”

Logan was a member of the team that negotiated, wrote and settled the 2017-2026 Fire and Emergency Medical Service Agreement between the Los Altos Hills County and Santa Clara County Central Fire Protection districts and the cities of Los Altos and Los Altos Hills, according to the release. The agreement provides fire suppression, prevention and emergency medical services to residents of these jurisdictions.
