- Plan your routes, check weather alerts, and have a family communication plan in case of emergencies during holiday travel or gatherings.
- Check holiday lights for frayed wires or loose connections and turn off those lights when you leave the house.
- Keep decorations away from heat sources, use flame-resistant ornaments.
- Prevent home fires by maintaining clearance around space heaters, fireplaces, kitchen appliances, and other heat sources.
