Safety Tips
- Trim dry grass and remove any dead or accumulated dry vegetation.
- Best practices on dry warm days above 90 degrees are to complete this type of work before 10am to avoid sparking a fire.
- Have two people on hand when this type of work is being completed – one person to operate machinery and other to spot potential sparks and fires; they should have a water source or fire extinguisher on hand to quickly extinguish any spark fires.
- Support community safety by participating in an evacuation route project and allowing the District to treat your yard adjacent to the evacuation route.
- WARNING – Be alert to Red Flag Warning days – suspend all landscaping and use of mechanical tools.
