Project Description
Portions of Mora–Summerhill evacuation route maintenance project represent a significant thoroughfare for the Southern Los Altos Hills Community. These roads serve as egress and ingress for local residents, daily commuters, and emergency services. To secure the egress / ingress’ integrity, the Los Altos Hills County Fire District proposes a roadside treatment of fuels. Trimming woody vegetation, pruning trees, clearing dead material, weed whipping dry grasses and removing roadside trash reduces wildfire risks.
Project Site
The Mora-Summerhill project will treat four (4) roads along the evacuation route. These include Ravensbury Avenue, Magdalena Avenue, Summerhill Avenue, and Mora Drive.
The North end of the project is located at the intersection of Summerhill and El Monte Avenue (37.36558, -122.11546) and the Southern end of the project is located at the end of Mora Drive near the entrance to the Rancho San Antonio Preserve (37.337828, -122.100975)
