The Altamont Road Evacuation Route Maintenance Project in Los Altos Hills, California, provides an important egress route for a significant portion of the western area of the Los Altos Hills Community in the event of an evacuation, such as during a wildfire. To secure the integrity of this route, Los Altos Hills County Fire District and Santa Clara County FireSafe Council propose a roadside treatment of hazardous fuels.
Project site
The Altamont Road Evacuation Route Maintenance Project will treat one road along the evacuation route.
The west end of the project is located at the intersection of Altamont Road & Page Mill Road (37.365268, -122.167318), and the east end of the project is located at the intersection of Altamont Road & Moody Road (37.357672, -122.134337).
The length of the project is approximate:
1. The Altamont Road portion is 2.2 linear miles, which equates to 4.4 miles when accounting for treatment on both sides of the road.

This project started on September 3, 2024 and was completed September 5, 2024.
