This class described how to build a first aid kit or refresh your current first aid kit for your home, vehicle, or Go Bag. Participants reviewed basic first aid skills including treatment for bleeding, burns, cuts, stings, and bites. Participants learned about the 9-1-1 system in Santa Clara County and the details needed by the Dispatcher.

This class was presented on Saturday, March 28th, 2026, by Ben Pantner, owner of Pantner CPR Trainings and Fire Captain Denise Gluhan (ret.), LAHCFD Community Education and Risk Reduction Manager at the Los Altos Hills Council Chamber and Dee King Raub hosting the webinar.

Ben Pantner
Ben Pantner brings more than two decades of dedicated experience at the YMCA, where he managed Aquatics, Childcare, and Facility Safety, in addition to his role as Safety/Training Coordinator. His comprehensive training includes numerous Red Cross certifications (Lifeguard, CPR, AED, First Aid, Bleed Control, Wilderness Training) and certifications from the American Heart Association and American Health and Safety Institute. Pantner has significant experience conducting AED and First Aid Inspections and establishing robust company safety protocols, with the goal of equipping others with the essential knowledge and practical skills to confidently handle emergency situations.

Denise Gluhan
Captain Gluhan (ret.) retired from the Santa Clara County Fire Department in December 2018 and joined the Los Altos Hills County Fire District in 2019. She provides community education and information to the residents of Los Altos Hills, including emergency preparedness, wildfire preparedness, and the Firewise USA program.
